Woodburning stove & Flue installations
i usually carry out installations in 3 stages
stage 1, is to sweep and assess the chimney internals with a camera, measure the flue length, and check the chimney stack is in good order, If the chimneys internals and stack are ok we move to stage 2, if not we have to assess and see what remedial work is required and likely cost.
Stage 2, is removal of the existing surround and open up the fireplace in preparation for a stove, lay New hearth and repair / repoint or board out the fireplace chamber.
Then once this has been completed we move to stage 3
Stage 3 is to see what size stove is suitable for the size of fireplace you have, now the fireplace is complete. But also ensuring the flue size required for that stove will fit inside your chimney (which is why stage 1 (sweep and survey) needs to be carried out so this is a smooth process without any issues after going to all the work of preparing the fireplace
The stove and flue install is then completed, stove lit, commissioning process taken place and then Hetas certificate issued
